Solid fuel boilers

A solid fuel boiler is a heating device made of steel or cast iron, which releases thermal energy during the combustion of solid fuel. In domestic models, fuel is supplied manually; in industrial versions, fuel is supplied automatically and ash is removed. It is most often used as a backup or in places where there is no gas pipeline.

Peat, firewood, coal, coke or fuel granules (pellets) are used as fuel for solid fuel boilers - an inexpensive alternative to gas and oil. Burning waste from wood processing and agricultural production (sawdust, wood chips, sunflower husks) allows us to solve the problem of their disposal at the same time.

Modern boilers are equipped with electronic control systems-controllers, although cheaper boiler designs are controlled “manually”, which makes them non-volatile and reliable. Boilers require timely cleaning of soot and scale. Scale significantly reduces the transfer of heat from the boiler wall to the water, which causes overheating of the metal and subsequent damage to it. Soot also prevents complete heat exchange between the combustion products and the boiler pipes, as a result of which the temperature of the water (steam) in the boiler decreases.

Many modern solid fuel boilers have a fairly high level of safety, automation and efficiency. Fluctuations in coolant temperature when using such boilers are no more than 5°C.
