Fan coil unit, or fan coil, is a receiver of cooled or heated coolant. It is part of the cooling and heating system. Fan coil units can be connected to chillers, heat pumps and heating boilers. Most often, fan coil units work for both heating and cooling a room, being included in the microclimate creation system in the form of a final distribution system, replacing both air conditioning and heating radiators. In this case, they are connected to a specialized heat pump or chiller.
A fan coil is a heat exchanger with a circulating cooled or heated coolant (water or specialized mixtures), located in front of the fan. Thus, heated or cooled air is supplied to the room. In addition, most fan coil units have a built-in air filter to purify the air.
